Iqbal AliKhan

Iqbal AliKhan is a Partner of IBM Venture Capital Group. Iqbal is also a Partner of the China Investment Fund， a private equity alliance between Lehman Brothers and IBM. He is responsible for the execution of many multi-sector equity funding deals. Iqbal has a particular focus on transformation plays which leverage assets of IBM in the transaction.

Iqbal joined IBM in 2000 in the financial services strategy consulting practice， where he has worked extensively as a management consultant across the United States， Europe， and China. He moved to China in 2004 to develop the financial services consulting sector. Iqbal participated in the initiation of the private equity unit in 2006.

Prior to joining the firm， Iqbal practiced banking at Citibank and an emerging country bank focusing on commercial banking and consumer finance and worked at a boutique consulting firm specializing in operational restructuring.

Iqbal earned an MPhil from the University of Glasgow in 1993 and graduated from the University of Karachi with a BA， with distinction， in 1989. He lives in Beijing with his wife， Ghazala， and their two children.
