Jim Tao

Jim Tao joined American Securities as director of Asia-Pacific operations in 2006 to help establish and build our Shanghai office and lead our efforts to maximize Asia product sourcing opportunities for American Securities’ portfolio companies. Formerly， Jim held several senior executive roles at GE including general manager of GE Healthcare’s Shanghai office and general manager of GE Healthcare China Sourcing. During his tenure at GE， Jim managed a global supplier portfolio of over $1 billion and developed and executed a sourcing strategy that grew China sourcing from $25M in 2000 to $350M in 2005. His experience includes strategic planning， acquisition growth and P&L management for a GE global medical devices business unit. He has visited hundreds of Chinese companies and worked with GE Equity to assess suppliers for potential equity investment and financing opportunities. Previously， Jim held multiple positions in marketing， Six Sigma， services and manufacturing with GE in the United States.

Jim recieved a BS in Material Science Engineering from Shanghai JiaoTong University， an MS in Material Science Engineering from University of Michigan and an MBA from Marquette University.
