Bharat Parashar

Mr. Bharat Parashar is a Managing Director of EMP and Chief Executive Officer of EMP Daiwa Capital Asia Limited， the entity responsible for the Firm’s private equity business in Asia. He joined EMP in 2001 with the Asia I Fund based in Singapore and subsequently was responsible for the Firm’s marketing activities.

Prior to joining EMP， he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Salomon Smith Barney’s Investment Banking business in South and South East Asia. Mr. Parashar has been involved in the raising of over $ 8 billion in debt and equity for regional corporations and governments from the international capital markets. He has also advised on several large and strategic Acquisitions and Corporate Restructurings in various industries. Mr. Parashar has over 29 years of Investment Banking and Commercial Banking experience in Asia， including Chief Executive for American Express Bank in India and Head of Chemical Bank’s Investment Banking business in Asia （ex Japan）. Mr. Parashar has a BA in Economics from Delhi University and a Master’s in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management.
