Johnston C. Chen

Johnston C. Chen holds a BSEE from San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. A seasoned executive with over 20 years experience in semiconductor and consumer electronics industry， Johnston has held management positions in engineering， manufacturing， marketing， sales， and corporate management with P&L responsibility. Johnston has previously served as VP of Consumer Electronics Division as well as VP of Asia-Pacific Sales at ESS Technology. He was instrumental in ESS’ transformation from pre-IPO into a NASDAQ listed company and became the world’s largest supplier of PC Audio chips， and MPEG chips for VCD/DVD. After leaving ESS， Johnston became a senior advisor and consultant for CCID， a subsidiary of China’s Ministry of Information Industry. Prior to founding Power Analog Microelectronics， Inc.， Johnston was an Executive Partner at Crimson Venture， a Silicon Valley-based venture capital management company， focusing on the investment of semiconductor and electronics companies. He has also held various positions in Power IC design， product engineering， sales & marketing at several Silicon Valley companies， including IDT， PMI/ADI， and Siliconix/Vishay. Johnston is now the president and CEO of Power Analog Microelectronics， Inc..
