Rocco Fabiano

Rocco Fabiano is president of Qualcomm Retail Solutions （QRS）， a wholly-owned mobile commerce subsidiary of Qualcomm Technologies， Inc. QRS focuses on using Qualcomm technologies to enable and enhance consumer engagement through near-store and in-store solutions for retailers and other venue operators. These solutions include geofencing， proximity， contextual awareness， relevance analysis， indoor navigation， augmented reality and mobile payments. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry， Fabiano brings to Qualcomm a rare combination of expertise in both large enterprises and entrepreneurial environments.

Prior to Qualcomm， Fabiano spent much of his career at Household International （now HSBC North America）， where he was a group executive overseeing four of the company’s subsidiaries， accounting for $35 billion in assets and $650 million per annum in after-tax profits. Among his other experiences， Fabiano has overseen a $17 billion private label credit card business， directed a $12 billion auto finance operation， served as head of a retail bank， was the chief operating officer of a mortgage company and ran a small credit card rewards business.

As an entrepreneur， Fabiano has founded a number of companies， taking two public and selling two others. He has also been an advisor on financial services to many of the nation’s largest private equity firms， and was honored as a 1997 Ernst & Young/NASDAQ Entrepreneur of the Year. Fabiano holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University as well as a Master of Science in protein chemistry and Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University.
