Jamie Mariani

Jamie Mariani joined Martin Currie in 2005 as a sector analyst with responsibility for researching and recommending telecoms stocks， subsequently expanding his remit to include media and technology stocks. In 2011， he was appointed director of research， working closely with the head of investment to refine the company’s already successful research processes. Jamie joined us from Bryan Garnier & Co， where he was head of telecoms. Earlier in his career， having worked in media sales and as a financial analyst with Walt Disney， Jamie took up a sales position with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson， later becoming a telecoms analyst there. He was then appointed by ABN AMRO to analyse the European mobile telecoms sector. While there， Jamie broadened his coverage to include fixed-line networks， and was promoted to director of ABN AMRO’s telecoms team in 2003. Jamie was ranked in the top five in the Extel survey of telecom sell-side analysts in 2003 and rated number two among ‘rising star’ analysts on a cross-sector basis in 2002.
