Ranjan Chak

Ranjan Chak joined Oak as a Venture Partner in 2003， after a diverse 20-year career in information technology including over 15 years in senior management roles in international operations. A cum laude graduate in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College， Ranjan has managed an AI research project at Carnegie Mellon University， established new ventures in Europe and Japan for Carnegie Group Inc.， helped start up Hewlett Packard （India）， before building his own software product company. In 1994， as Vice President （Indian Operations） for Oracle Corporation， he created one of the most successful offshore development centers in India. In addition， he took over the leadership of Oracle's Asia-Pacific Product Services organization， including global support centers in Bangalore， Hyderabad， and Melbourne. Ranjan actively works with a number of Oak companies including Aspect， RazorGator， and Sutherland Global Services. He has served on the boards of Talisma Corporation， Aventail India， and Evident India， is currently advising on Xiotech's development team . In addition to his Oak responsibilities， he is also on the advisory board of Vencap， a $2-billion UK-based investment firm.
