Xiaokang Wei graduated with a Diploma in Packaging Technology from the Institute of Packaging， UK in 2001 and is currently reading a Masters in Science in Packaging Technology from Brunel University， United Kingdom. After graduating in 1991， Mr Wei joined Nestle Dongguan Ltd as Packaging Controller in the Quality Assurance Department where his responsibilities included quality inspections of packaging materials， auditing of material suppliers and co-ordinating trials of materials， amongst other duties. He was later promoted to Supervisor in 1993 and Executive Packaging Technologist in 1998， reporting to the General Manager. At that time his responsibilities included developing new packaging materials， arranging for machine trials， issuing specifications and technical drawings， evaluating and approving packaging material suppliers， heading initiatives to propose new materials with better performance and/or lower costs and improving the industrialisation of new packaging materials. In 1999， Mr Wei was transferred to Nestle China Ltd.， the regional head office， where his responsibilities included overseeing the packaging of coffee， culinary products， liquid milk， beverages and mineral water for various Nestle subsidiaries based in the PRC. In July 2003， Mr Wei joined Lee Kum Kee （Guangzhou） Food Co.， Ltd. as Packaging Manager — Corporate Manufacturing where his responsibilities included overseeing the Lee Kum Kee PRC and Hong Kong subsidiaries and providing technical support to the USA and Malaysian operations. On 2004-02-23， Mr Wei joined Foshan Southern as Director-Deputy General Manager and was subsequently appointed as Executive Director of Southern Packaging Group Limited.
