Samir Soota

Samir Soota is a Managing Director of EMP seconded to EMP Daiwa based in Singapore to oversee the South and South East Asian private equity business. He joined EMP in October 2008 from Principia Management Group， a specialty investment services firm he co-founded in 2006 that managed USD 500 million in private equity funds. He was involved in origination， structuring， execution and post closing support for several private equity transactions. Prior to Principia， he worked as President Director of KPMG’s Financial Advisory Services practice in Indonesia leading the corporate finance， transaction service and restructuring businesses. He has been involved in numerous landmark restructuring， M&A and funding transactions during his seven year stint with KPMG. Samir has worked on more than USD 7 billion in aggregate transaction value across industry sectors （coal， oil & gas， palm oil & biofuel， infrastructure， media and technology， banking & finance， real estate etc） over his 20 years of diverse experience in South and South East Asia including as Managing Director of Danareksa， Indonesia’s largest investment bank. Mr. Soota has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from St. Xavier’s College， Kolkata， India and is a Chartered Accountant.
