Randall W. Merk oversees the Investment Management Services division， responsible for developing and delivering innovative asset management products and services. He is also president and CEO of Charles Schwab Investment Management， the mutual fund advisor to Schwab and Laudus funds.
Before joining Schwab in 2002， Merk spent 15 years at American Century Investments and Benham Capital Management （acquired by American Century in 1995） in a variety of positions， including president and chief investment officer.
Merk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Davis and his Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
