Simon Sham

Simon Sham has over 25 years of corporate and project finance experience in various business and infrastructure sectors while based in Hong Kong， Singapore and Toronto. Prior to joining Darby Asia Investors in September 1999， he was Managing Director， Global Energy & Utilities Group at CIBC World Markets in Hong Kong. From 1996 to 1998， Mr. Sham was a Director and Head of Infrastructure Finance in Asian Securitization & Infrastructure Assurance （Pte） Ltd. （ASIA Ltd.） based in Singapore. In that capacity， he successfully pioneered the use of financial guarantees for the financing of several major infrastructure projects in China， Indonesia and the Philippines. Previously， he was the General Manager of the Hong Kong Representative Office of West Merchant Bank （WMB）， and acted as financial advisor to several major project developers in Asia and particularly in China since mid-1994. Prior to joining WMB， Mr. Sham spent 13 years working for Citibank primarily as a senior transactor in the corporate and investment banking areas in Hong Kong and Toronto. From 1991 to mid-1994， he was Director of Project Finance at Citibank with primary responsibility for originating， structuring and executing project finance advisory and lending transactions in Thailand and elsewhere in Asia. Mr. Sham has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering & Management degree （1980） and an MBA degree （1981） from McMaster University. Mr. Sham holds the Chartered Financial Analyst （CFA） designation and is also a Certified General Accountant （CGA）.
