Martin Alderson Smith is a Senior Managing Director in Blackstone Advisory Partners LP.

Since joining Blackstone in 1991， Mr. Alderson Smith has worked on a number of Blackstone advisory projects， including the acquisition of Sanford C. Bernstein by Alliance Capital Management； the sale of Banco Patrimônio to Chase Manhattan Bank； the establishment of a retirement services joint venture between the asset management divisions of Citigroup and State Street Corporation； the sale of Wells Fargo Nikko Investment to Barclays Bank； and the sale of Gartmore to National Westminster Bank.
