Rakesh Sharma

Rakesh Sharma joined Tishman Speyer in 2008， as head of Tishman Speyer India. Mr. Sharma has sixteen years of Indian real estate and construction experience in the areas of development， acquisitions， design and construction， and project finance. Prior to joining Tishman Speyer， he worked as executive director of the Western Region with publicly traded DLF Group， India's largest real estate developer in the major property segments throughout India， during which time DLF acquired projects in Mumbai， Pune， Goa， Gandhinagar， Baroda and Nagpur. Prior to DLF， Mr. Sharma was head of the special projects， infrastructure development sector in Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. He was instrumental in the completion of the first phase of 800 acres in the Mahindra World City （Chennai）， India's first Integrated Business City and India's first operational Special Economic Zone. Mr. Sharma subsequently became a vice president of the company's real estate division， where he helped execute the development of commercial and residential real estate projects in Mumbai， Pune and Chennai. Mr. Sharma also brings hospitality experience from his role as director of projects for The Indian Hotels Company， a Tata company that operates the international Taj Group of Hotels chain. Mr. Sharma earned a post graduate degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management， Calcutta， and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology， Delhi.
