Steve Latargia responsibilities include overseeing the technical operations and engineering of Tishman Speyer's present and former properties on a global basis. This includes the buildings' heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical distribution, plumbing, building envelope, elevators, environmental, fire and life safety and energy conservation systems. In aggregate, the assets exceed 80 million square feet and 135 buildings. These properties are located in the USA, Europe and South America. In addition, he leads Tishman Speyer's physical due diligence process in the United States and Europe, which has resulted in the successful acquisition of over 60 million square feet of properties. As a core member of the Design and Construction Department he provides support for master planning, utilities, mechanical and electrical design criteria, vertical transportation and environmental issues for the development of new buildings and redevelopment of existing buildings on a global basis. He is the gate keeper and analyzes the energy consumed in the Tishman Speyer Global Portfolio and a member of Tishman Speyers' Sustainability Committee. Mr. Latargia joined Tishman Speyer Properties in 1988, after spending in excess of 22 years in charge of the design, construction, and operations for Western Union as assistant vice president of engineering and plant services and at RCA Communications as manager of facilities engineering and construction. Mr. Latargia graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He was inducted into the Electrical Engineering Honor Society and presented with the meritorious Founders Day Award. He also attended the University of Massachusetts Graduate Division. He is a member of the Real Estate Round Table, BOMA, REBNY, NYISO, ASHRAE and OCER. He has obtained Professional Engineering licenses in the states of New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Michigan, and the Island of Guam.
